OK; I want money, they want money. It never ends.

You should normally not see this.

detailed story:

In the fall of 1993 I was very poor. I was faced with the dilemma of finding something to buy friends and family for the upcoming Christmas season. Months earlier I had discovered the wonderful world of fractals via the ever popular FractInt program. I was always in awe of how relaxed I could become just by staring a fractal images and controlling the color map while listening to music. One day I decided that I wanted to give others the same feelings by recording some fractals with music. Suddenly my Christmas shopping problems were solved!

I told my gift idea to a friend and he wanted in too. To make these tapes special, we wanted to be able to fade, or mix, between two different fractal images. So my partner, Cruz Ng, bought a digital video mixer to make things easier. I made a couple of source tapes to be mixed by aiming my camcorder at the video monitor (I said I was poor). Even with this decidedly low-tech approach, the results are surprisingly NOT lo-fi. Both of us were quite please with the results.

To finish the Christmas saga, we duped up a bunch and showered our friends and family with the tapes. It was a success. This success led to the next tape quickly.
